About

This site discusses data-mining applications in Astronomy, an area that I believe will become increasingly important with the emergence of high-throughput high-redundancy digital surveys occurring across many different wavelengths. These ambitious survey efforts will generate petabytes of data annually, thus creating important opportunities for data analysis and in silico discovery. My research interests include machine-learning and data-mining, bioinformatics, optimization and decision-support technologies, high-performance computing methods, and of course astronomy! Currently, I am working as a consultant for the pharmaceutical industry developing scientific applications for the modeling, analysis, and visualization of biological pathways.
